Commitment to quality

Full-time fattening system

At our farm, we raise calves that are 10 months old and weigh between 280 and 300 kg, which we receive from production farmers, until they are 29 months old and weigh between 700 and 800 kg. A cow's growth pattern changes with age. In order to raise beef cattle into high-quality beef cattle, careful feeding management is required based on a feed feeding manual that takes into account the growth characteristics of each cattle.
The basic philosophy of animal husbandry management at our farm is to have ``full-time fattening'' from the time of introduction to shipment.
By understanding the growth history of the cows you are responsible for, you can closely check their daily health and fattening status, and by accumulating this knowledge you can raise fine beef cattle. To put this into practice, it is important to maintain an attitude of ``seriously and honestly doing what needs to be done.'' We believe that the only way to get closer to your ideal is to work diligently and honestly every day.

A dedicated person takes care of each cow from the time it is introduced until it is shipped.

We carefully check the health of the cows while feeding them.

Reduce stress in cows

Cows are very delicate creatures and even having people in their sight can cause them stress. How well you can spend your time in a calm environment is related to growth. At our company, we carefully manage the sawdust on the floor of the cowshed to keep it clean. In addition, we are careful not to enter the cowshed any more than necessary, except for feeding and cleaning, in order to avoid putting excessive stress on the cows. We also strive to make the introduced cows stress-free by providing them with an environment where they can exercise outdoors for a certain period of time.
By creating an environment like this, the conditions of the cows will be stable and we can expect them to grow according to their stage.

Management according to stage

The growth pattern of feedlot cattle can be roughly divided into three stages. During the first 3 to 4 months, this is the stage in which the foundations are laid for the cows to become fatteners. We feed them plenty of highly nutritious hay (timothy), encourage exercise, and improve the digestive, circulatory, and respiratory organs including the rumen. We also aim to form a skeletal frame. This is the period that determines how far you can bring out the potential of the cow.
The next one-year period is exactly the stage of fattening. This is an important period for promoting the growth of muscle and intermuscular fat. Feed plenty of grain-based formula feed, maintain digestive homeostasis with an appropriate amount of rice straw, and promote strong growth. This is the period that determines the amount of meat and marbling.
The final period of about six months is a finishing stage that promotes full marbling and smoothness of the meat. This is the period when the cows mature and are full of meat, and we are most concerned about daily changes in the cow and health management.
600 days after its introduction, the result of careful feeding management accumulated every day is shipped as "Miyazaki Himawari Beef".
